The first player-run Dust 514 tournament and the first Dust 514 tournament on Tranquility concluded Saturday over Evaulon VII in Placid where the finals took place in District 13 outside the ruins of the city of Rilnais.
SVER True Blood (STB) of Unclaimed. and Pink Fluffy Bounty Hunterz (PFBHz) of Rise of Legion reached the finals after coming out on top in the Open Round-Robin and Double Elimination phases of the tourney that included over a month of fighting.
A massive 300+ ship fleet battle occurred in orbit to see who would take the 1 billion ISK prize for the first orbital bombardment kills during the final match. Both fleets were out for blood with Unclaimed especially driven after loosing a titan during logistical preparation for the tournament. ROFL's 50 man fleet forced their way through Unclaimed's 200+ mass of Talwars just long enough to deliver a single orbital strike before having to withdraw. On the ground, after close fighting the majority of the match, PFBHz was able to seize victory through using strategic drop-uplink positioning, HAV suppression, and excellent orbital strike placement.
nice!
ReplyDeletepoor STB
ReplyDeletemore like scrub STB. how do you noob fit protosuits with shotguns and mass drivers and not only lose but all go negative? lolololol
Deletetried to spam shotguns and mass drivers and got worked.
Deletethere were two shot gunners and one massdriver that hardly spam
Deleteshotgun range too far with mods ccp. embarassing gameplay video.
DeleteSTB used shottys and MD and still went negative?
DeleteROFL lost a titan? fail..............
ReplyDeleteUnclaimed lost the titan not ROFL.
Deletereally needs FF on. PFB would have killed themselves many times over with orbitals.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. I think that FF should always be on with orbital strikes.
DeleteIt was a 40 man rofl fleet not 50, and they poded some guys billion isk pod
ReplyDeleteROLF or Unclaimed destroyed the one 1 Bill pod?
DeleteROFL destroyed one of Unclaimed 1 Bil pods.

1 billion? ouch
DeleteI am very happy that people were betting ISK on STB, helped me win a lot of ISK with my bet on PFBHz. That EVEbet site is pretty sweet for stuff like this. I hope more tournaments are covered by them from now on.
ReplyDeleteLet me know of any match beforehand that you'd like to have bets on and I can talk to them about it. I'll just need to verify the match results.
DeleteGood to know. Thanks. Will have to keep this in mind in future tournament ideas.
