Details of ROFL/EV engagements emerge

After months of an intel blockade, a source inside inside ROFL is finally coming forth information from inside ROFL, including some of the details regarding their engagements with the EV in New Eden space.


While both of the organizations have publicly denied any serious conflict, evidence points to the contrary. The two groups have been waging a secret war in New Eden space that has fleet mobilizations, lost ships and even moles in the upper ranks of one alliance. According to intel from the public ROFL public forums, EV leader The Hivemind/Dr.Spankit has approached ROFL leadership atleast twice under the premise of not being enemies and has been painfully rebuffed both times.

I don't know you and I can't ever even recall running into you on MAG sans the occasional forum thread. I can't speak for ROFL as a whole but as I see it there isn't any "Hate" per se. It's a game...we play it. Though, you will hear the phrase "Internet Spaceships is serious business". This whole "Bullying" business is a bunch of crap. Again, it's a game....You wouldn't run into us in a shooter, lower your weapon, and say "I have no beef with you guys". We located an entity in EvE with Dust Warchest in the name, we poked it with a stick, and we all know how it ended.

Don't get it twisted. ROFL didn't come knocking only to have your Dust Warchest guys be diplomatic...until they understood the power of this fully operational battle station. Then they were, in fact, begging for mercy.

I have an EvE convo with Bane where I landed on him ratting in a system. I didn't agress, didn't talk smack in local, didn't convo, nada. Your boy opens up a convo with me talking all kinds of smack, calls a buddy into system, and continues to talk shit. So, we dropped a 20+ man fleet right on his face....his buddy bails on him and suddenly he's singing a different song. The irony is, didn't need the fleet. Any one of our toons would have lit him up like a Christmas tree.

Moral of the story. This isn't MAG anymore. This universe isn't filled with forum chest thumping, epeen loving, children, like jumpman. Corps will lay waste to all your fleets, rid of your ISK, crush your dreams, and kick over your sandcastle for a few ISK and bag of skittles. Then the next time you see them, it's completely professional.

Don't take it personal....we didn't.

It would seem that ROFL and EV have not been very forthcoming as to their conflict. While both publicly state a "nothing to see here" policy, they have waged a war of spies, conflict and internal memos declaring the other a mortal enemy. While the early conflicts have been embarrassingly one sided as ROFL has the benefit of a massive EVE infrastructure, There are reports that a recent Dust engagement may not have gone their way, unfortunately at press time it is only a rumor backed up with no facts and so we'll continue to investigate. Earlier intel from our source inside the EV now allows us to piece together some of the circumstances of their encounters and even to follow the chain of events. Here are secure transmissions from the EV regarding the situation.

 ROFL has sent a war deck on one of our clans in EVE.

They are blindly picking fights with anyone with DUST in their name, trying it stiffle out competition.

Officially, we are not an alliance. It is better to let them think we are weak now, and exact our revenge later as one unit. So here is what I told bane:

Lay low, minimize losses, and don't get into a war that won't profit. If anyone can help them out, please contact bane, but avoid any emotional commitment into a war. ROFL are fools for thinking they are Si powerful that they can pick fights with random strangers. Like the art of war, we shall appear weak when we are strong, and we will exact our revenge when WE are ready, and make them seem like fools.

This may help us in the long run. If they pick a war with to many people they are going to have every one helping us and gunning for them. So for the time being I agree with the whole let's look weak for now.

And if they are weakened by too many wars so soon it may be easier to absorb them later. When the world is against them they'll need new allies...and if they are given a decent/good offer of protection in exchange for their loyalty...

Watching is probably a good idea, keeping tabs on what happens. Looking weak and then suddenly showing our power...

But we definitely don't want to pick fights.

It would seem that the logs from the chat in local that preceded the attack on Bane [the leader of the EV's Warchest 514 Corp] paint a much different picture. It seems as if he was the instigator and was largely ridiculed by the BHZ leader before his ship was attacked in New Eden space and he was forced to flee. Consequently, these logs were also provided to us by the EV source previously. Our ROFL source also confirmed the existence of atleast one mole inside the EV and claims ROFL has been privy to EV intel since they formed. He also claimed this is the impetus regarding their conflict, as early EV chats revealed their hatred of ROFL in addition to their intent to subjugate them. The chat logs are below.

Remember guys we are not starting a War YET. If they are running then let them run. We can and should prepare for the next time, and there will be a next time. They wanted to see what would happen and they ran. If we keep after them then they will have to turn and fight. Never provoke a cornered animal applies to this. We know they will come after us so let's prepare for the next encounter. If they provoke us again then we will have to access the situation and react accordingly. If they want to keep provoking people then they will just help us in making their enemies by them selves.

As for us. Every one on EVE should be able to contact each other in case of simulations like this. Prepare for the next attack on us. If they feel threatened they will attack. If they attack us again than maybe they should learn not to poke a sleeping Tiger.

Once I get back from Vacation I will get on EVE as planed to help out and start making money.

One ROFL officer remarked: Combat took place in a combat environment. NOW, I know what your thinking. " Thats just unacceptable" but as it turns out they put guns on these ships and they aren't really all that good at doing anything but shooting people.

 JLongshot had this to say: With regard to Spankit; the last statement I make is really the prevailing theme....if that wasn't clear. We don't have hate...it's part of the game...and there's always a possibility of a common goal down the line. The point is not to take stuff personally. Most players in New Eden are very professional. They will kill you one month and allign with you the next.

Could these lopsided engagements have led to GC and others to leave the alliance? The ROFL Chairman's "we're playing with house money" attitude couldn't have helped things. Now we know how the bullying allegations started. Is it GC's intent to ally with a veteran EVE presence instead? Both the Russians and Goons are mentioned in their chat logs. We can only speculate, but many did not seem happy with the outcomes which were embarrassing defeats to say the least. As always, we'll continue to follow this story and provide more details the moment they become available.
