New Eden Hiatus

While our blog will continue to monitor and cover EVE: Legion and New Eden, due to the mass exodus Dust has undergone due to its slowed development, we've decided to shift our blog to the considerable community now forming from Dust 514 and MAG castoffs in anticipation of Planetside for the PS4.

We can't help but admit much of the information coming from Legion has left us less than excited. So much so that we've decided to scrap our Legion Whiteboard Project. Either decide on hardcore mechanics or the casual ones, CCP. A mixture of the two will result in the same failure that befell Dust. Hints that Legion will lack friendly fire, prone, prox chat and that Dropsuits will be BPOs excite no one. A dev scoffing at a question about the Weapons Lab/Trainer at Fanfest and telling a player to 'be a man' and 'just go to a planet and train' make us doubt CCP has learned anything from the Dust 514 Debacle. The question has to be asked: Are you developing the game for you or the hardcore community? Making a game only the devs in Shanghai play will do nothing but yield another round of scathing reviews, we guarantee it.

Hayden Dingman of PC Gamer advised us months ago of what has come to be known as Gaming Truth #1. 'Support a game after it has the features you want, and not a moment before.' Gaming promises mean little. In Planetside we can't help but see a next-gen F2P game with strong core FPS mechanics that will release in a finished state. While it won't have the persistence and EVE link, those ended up as empty promises and were years away at best.

We sincerely hope Legion sees the light of day, but if the greenlight never comes and this current state ends up as its epitaph, it will be one of failure that will no doubt hang over the release of EVE: Valkyrie. The console community won't soon forget phrases like 'Laser Focused' and 'Soon™'. Should Legion prove itself worthy of coverage, we will return but unfortunately not until then. In the end, we hope to see most of you on the massive battlefields of Auraxis, and we can't wait to tell your stories there.

Until then,

The Galactic News Network

    4. we're sorry u feel that way. we tried to add something tangible to the dust community despite the fact that the reviews were so bad. and yes, we're transitioning our site very shortly.

    5. OP I hope you arent implying they are hurting the Dust license or brand because CCP did that themselves. its worthless.

as a matter of fact, calling it worthless is a compliment. its in the hole and has negative value because CCP put time and effort into this garbage.

  5. I never felt the blogger of this website ever played the game unfortunately. I mean he didn't catch hotfix alpha, bravo, or even knew the political climate changed massively in the last two months. The whole hall of fame list was lauded to be highly inaccurate and out of date even worse so.

I mean as bad as Pryex is; you feel Pryex is doing his misinformation on purpose where as this guy almost seems to believe his own hype and conspiracies.
