To those in the know apparently this was a merger in the making for some time now, but it took the rest of the corps training in Mordu space by surprise. The Imperfects, a group with ties to Betamax and reportedly veteran New Eden corporations as well. Global Conflict, the infamous battle-hardened veterans of the MAG border skirmishes of the past linked to the anarchist led 'Burn New Eden' movement.
Apparently these two groups have decided to merge together for purposes unknown. Many critics have claimed this was done to 'stack the deck' in an effort to win Mordu's Tournament, and some say Global Conflict has a history of 'ringers' in their past, but none would say that this new elite cadre of soldiers is not the frontrunner to be crowned victors when the smoke clears. Other detractors have said GC sold out and is now subservient to the Imperfects by wearing their colors, but our sources say that this was only done because the Imperfects had greater numbers.
In a recent debate of combat pundits link some even speculated that Muryia Mordu would suspend the two corps for seeking to gain an advantage by merging but we couldn't disagree more with that line of thinking. What if this merger is long lasting? Could there be a better choice for hiring this group to achieve results? Powerhouse mergers often ruffle the feathers of those that have elite members abandon them and we wonder if groups like the EV and Betamax can recover from such a significant loss in high level personnel.

No. They excluded 2 teams from the alliance tournament for working together. Not for 2 teams merging into one team before the enrollment window closing.

DeleteOriginally the Zitro brothers approached me about joining G|C, because they didn't like the direction betamax was going towards. However they weren't the only ones upset with the direction betamax was going. They were going to join G|C but there were too many guys upset with the direction betamax was moving in so they formed the imperfects.
DeleteHowever though, we were all on the same page and ran mixed squads and mixed corp matches BEFORE CCP even thought of the tournament.
I really like how everybody used to say G|C had no friends but looks like the joke is on you. Good luck battling for second place.
